Wowee!! Sophie's 3!!

Sophie is turning 3 today. Since I am now in the 5th months of pregnancy, I'm always thought back on how I dealt with it when I was pregnant 3 years ago. And now, my toddler has grown up and soon will be a big sister. How time flies…

When I had ordered one cake for Sophie, I just couldn’t believed that it’s been 3 years now with the girl who always pampered herself with kisses and hugs, the girl who prefers to be in her world during her daytime, the girl who taught herself to be independent when her parents out for work and vacation, a girl who pampers to her grandparents, lovely aunt Noi, Busu Boy and her Acu, the girl who jumps so hard to the Barney I Love You song and Playhouse Disney song, the girl who responds to most requests with “O…K..” but didn’t turn out as she said, the girl who says goodnight with kisses to her parents and to her coming lil’ sister/brother and the girl who has taken over our life and made us a million times blissful and happier?

I was screaming out of my head telling myself “Owh..what I’m gonna do when everything would be this fast? How do I feel when she’s going to be in kindy then primary then secondary school?” sigh.. now she’s 3, whether she’s on track or not, I’m pretty confidence that she’s going to be a bright, cheerful and lovely child. I hope tonite’s small celebration with her Atuk and Nenek and all their friends will be a memorable for her.

Happy 3rd birthday my love.. mommy and daddy love you to bits.

a SUCCESS of 12 hrs toilet trained

I took a week off when I was thinking that I totally need a time off and need to spend more time alone with Sophie even I was afraid I'm not gonna make it for at least a day. Since we have a public holiday for Federal Territory day and Chinese New Year, I have taken 2 more days off to get a full weekend off. We went back to Hubby's hometown and Sophie was overwhelmed to see her Opah and her Acu. First word came out was "Acu" just exactly how she's excited to see her Busu Boy. Hmmm... no idea why.. It’s was great to see MIL looked healthier than I saw her few months back. Sophie’s Opah is a diabetic; same as her granddad a.k.a my dad even to say that Sophie’s Opah has suffered in higher level diabetes than her Atuk. We were glad to see her that week and I supposed she’s even overjoyed to see her grandchild after sometime. We had a picnic, we had a great time there and luckily we didn’t face any traffic jams on our journey home and had a day quality time in our home before Hubby got busy back in the office.

I was browsing about toilet training last few months to get real understanding on how parents out there managed to get their children properly trained. I admit I'll somehow been a very tough mommy even some people do not believe it. So it’s essential for me to have a better perspective on how patient you could be in handling this matter when you’re not convinced your toddler is ready for a ‘big’ change. I have done few tips given in the forums for the preparation of Sophie gets the idea that she’s now a big girl. I tried to recall how my mom did successfully made me ‘diaper less’ , but we know that would not be possible to do it since we tend to forget what we’ve been through during our childhood unless there’s something big and impacted on how we grown up. So, that case not particularly impacted me much I supposed, that's why I don't remember on how and when I was 'diaperless'.

So, I’ve decided to try the toilet training on Wednesday, which you all must know that first few days without diaper on your child would caused you a minor heart attack. Trust me; I was out of sudden burst out the anger towards Sophie even I was aware that thing would happen. I was whispering to myself, I’m a bad mother..owh no!! I’m the worst mother in the world!! How I supposed to handle my other children soon if I didn’t do well for my 1st child? Sophie was crying when I was totally mad at her, I didn’t even look and entertained her needs, and I was just sat around and watching television to take sometime to cool down myself. I was regretting what I’ve done; unquestionably I’m a bad mother. I was trying not put a blame on the imbalance hormone of my pregnancy… so I just admitted all my fault, and wished that I’m not going to be a bad mother for the next few days..pls..

1st day without diaper – did not success. I ended up put the diaper back on her after that since I could not be sure how impatient I would be if it would happen again.

2nd day- accidentally ‘shishi’ at the kitchen area. Fed-up, upset and given up.

3rd day – stressful day for both of us!! However she’s improved a bit when she tried to inform me that she wanted to take a pee.

Saturday – went out to KLCC, so I didn’t even dare.

Sunday – 12 hrs successfully toilet trained! Finally!! From 8am to 8pm, she seemed to know when and where she supposed to go, managed to alert her needs and I’m relieved that everything went well. Alhamdulillah… And now, toilet training going smoothly at her granny’s house.. ;)

The ALIMkids Playgroup sessions

Hannah and Mama, Aunt Nany - Sophie was so excited to see her fren during the playgroup. She was called Camilla actually since another student also has a similar name as her, Sofia. Aunt Nany looked fresh after her confinement period of her 2nd child ;)

Sophie's 2nd session - Actively participated with singing and other activities. This time around, I must admit that I'm proud of her. She's improved a lot, she's communicated with her teacher and frens, she took part with all the activities done.. well.. not bad for the 2nd session.. and as a result, she couldn't wait for another playgroup session.

Sophie's 1st session

I've been browsing lots of school or playgroups before but finally ended up with ALIMkids playgroup. I was looking for Genius Aulad actually, hoped that they will have a playgroup in BK but unfortunately, their principle decided to have it only in Bangi the closest to my place. So thinking to have it quite far from home and don't really know how for sure Sophie would be willing to participate, I was considering ALIMKids since had a good review by Nany and the class held in BK5B. I'm sure from the review she's given and Hannah's posted video, made me convinced that ALIMkids would be fine for Sophie. So here we were, the 1st session of her playgroup. Hubby also around to support her but as a kid who joined at the first time, we never expected much from her. It's normal that they're quite reserved. So did Sophie, she just tried to participate but at certain time she actually might scared with those new things.

Quite ok I must say, eventho she's not cooperate at certain part during Teacher Effa's class, yet she's quite amazing. She then had a courage to participate during the phonics singing and reading. Well, for the 1st session, we were not expect much la kan... just hoped she's enjoying the class and meeting with her new frens. I'm certainly sure that Sophie was happy and would be excited to have another class.. Hmmm.. she loves to play the phonics singing over and over again.. well, I think it's a good signs tho :).. I will post the pix soon.

Rapunzel -the Tangled and Narnia movie outing

When the Rapunzel was out for the screening, I was excited to watch it since it was given a very good review and rating in the rottentomatoes. As usual we took the Wed tickets for the price ;). After the movie, I was seriously think that I should get Sophie out for this movie and since my sister, Noi also agreed to come along, we went to Mid Valley for Girl's Day Out!! Yeah!! It was definitely fun fun for us but also tiring for me. Well handling a toddler is a quite tricky... And lately, even Hubby couldn't handled Sophie as before.

And a few weeks after that, Noi was planning to take all her nieces and nephews for movie outing and as usual I would be the one who managed everything especially the movie tickets. We were planning to watch Narnia during weekday, which a 'sudden' public holiday for Malaysia since won the Suzuki Cup. Luckily Angah and family came back for a holiday but unfortunately Angah and Along couldn't joined us since both of them have something came up to be settled on that day. So the final list was me, Sophie, Noi, Boy, Alisa, Amir and Aiman. This time around we had more fun since we had the joy playing all the games at the Games Hall besides the TGV and the lunch was on Noi. Hehehehe!! Thanks sis!!

Today is January 10, 2011 and it's my birthday. Years by years, the number will be increased, whether you like or not, whether how hard you to accept the truth...that you're younger no more.. I'm 30 yrs old today and I don't feel bad. Despite of whatever had happened to me before, either it was worst or good, I feel blessed.

So I'm proud to be who I am now. With my age of 30, I have a career (even not as successful as I wished), I have a loveliest Hubby, I have a great 35-month toddler, I have a great family (both mine and in-laws) and most of all, I have a great years before with the wills of Allah, who are the most gracious and the most merciful, kind enough to giving me everything I owned now. Alhamdulillah... And.. right now, I'm feel more blessed with the 18th weeks baby in my womb, as per planned ;). I hope Allah will give me more strength to keep me and my baby healthy, so it does not effect my life, my work and my happy2 moment with Sophie and Hubby... InsyaAllah..

OK.. that's all for now.... Happy bithday to me :).. Happy 30th anniversary!!..happy happy ;)
